Clean

It's very hot and humid outside today, so I spent most of the day indoors cleaning the basement where it's nice and cool. I always forget how big the basement is. It's half of our living space. We spend a lot of time down here. The office space, where the computers are located, is in the basement. We watch movies and television down here. We also have a laundry area, a second kitchen (for canning and brewing), and a bathroom in the basement. My creative space ("art desk" as my oldest granddaughter refers to it) is tucked away down here, too.

The basement is not cave-like, the way most basements are, because it's a walk-out with a door and nice big windows that let in plenty of light. Yet somehow it always stays a wonderfully cool 64 degrees, year-round.
