A Day on a Train
I was trying to think of a way to describe the train journey to Melbourne. Amble was the word that kept coming to mind. The train ambled its way out of Sydney. It continued to amble for almost 12 hours. It ambled its way across plains and fields of crops, up hills, down hills, round some mountains, past sheep and cattle and through the occasional small town. Sometimes we stopped at stations that seemed to be in the middle of nowhere but people got on and some people got off and disappeared into the landscape.
Since we landed here nearly four weeks ago every day has been busy doing things. Going to places we wanted to see and catching up with family and friends. The last three days in Sydney have been some of the busiest of all trying to soak up as much as we could in the short time we had there. We wore our legs and feet out in the process. So just for today ambling seemed good. Australia was coming to us instead of the other way round. All we had to do was sit and look.
The image above sums it up. A station in Wup Wup!!
