Reflections in Polney Loch
At the southern end of Perthshire's Atholl Estates, among the woodland, lies the diminutive Polney Loch. Because it is so sheltered, as soon as the wind drops the surface becomes a near-perfect mirror. This morning as I passed along the path on the southern bank I was struck by the beautiful reflections of the silver birches beside the little crumbling stone building which was probably a fisherman's retreat in previous times. It was a bonus to capture a foraging coot at the scene.
