Winter Tree

This tree is a subject to which I keep on returning - looking for new angles, trying different lenses. As within a few weeks it will be covered in foliage I wanted to pay one more visit to view it in its stark winter grandeur. There are many trees in East Lothian which have interesting shapes but few which are sufficiently isolated at their base to be uncluttered by hedgerows. In any case it is a subject that is constantly changing because of the changing skycape and I find that the drama that the sky adds is usually better served by a monochrome treatment.
