Spear Fishing
An anhinga jumps up out of the water and hops onto a stump with a freshly speared fish this afternoon in the marsh.
Anhingas fish by swimming under water and spearing fish on the end of their sharp bills. They must get the fish off their bill in order to eat it and they usually do that by shaking the fish and flipping it up in the air then catching it on the way down.
This one brought his fish out of the water and beat and scraped it across the wood stump until he could swallow the fish down.
Anhingas are amazing birds.
