Tower poppy

Delighted to have finally received my poppy, one of 888,246, from the installation at the Tower of London between 5th August and 11th November 2014. 'Blood Swept Lands and Seas of Red' by Paul Cummins commemorated the centenary of the start of the First World War.

I have installed it in a quiet corner of my garden, where it will serve as a remembrance to all casualties of that war.

I was warned to wear gloves and handle the metal rod and poppy with care as they may have sharp edges. However, as usual, I ignored the instructions quite safely!
