A new day

Things did not look promising out our window (on the left) when we got up, but taking a risk, we were rewarded with some great runs on the way to, and then high up above, Val Thorens. it did not last long and we had to pole our way back through slush but it was great while it lasted. You can see the cloud giving the poor visibility in the valley in the righthand picture but above 2600 metres it was bright before the cloud rose up to meet us. The rain turned to snow last night, (after the piste-bashers had been round), but we didn't mind bouncing over the bumps!
