Gateshead surprise

Gateshead is full of surprises. This afternoon I shared a walk with friends from church. Just beyond the 'urban sprawl' we enjoyed fields, woods, streams, lakes and wonderful views across Tyneside, on a bright windy day with plenty of blue sky and scudding clouds. Twenty of us rested over tea and cakes in a very hospitable tea shop who stayed open for us after normal hours.
