Chester 2 Woking 3
Another disappointing result today but the Blues have been secure in mid-table for a few weeks now so, with nothing to play for, some of the edge has gone off the performances . The winning goal by the visitors Josh Payne was the best goal I have seen all season and deservedly secured the points for Woking.
On the positive side the club, who are fan-owned, secured a 50 year lease on the ground from the council and the deal was signed at half-time.
Current chairman of Chester is my friend Grenville Millington who played 290 league games in goal for the club between 1969 and 1983. The picture was taken before the game when he was in a better mood.
