Rule Britannia!
Up early this morning..........didn't start well, heavens opened as we were loading up the car; soaked before we started. Once we got on the road, decided to go through town to the nearest junction of the M6 as it was only 8.30......got within 200 metres only to find access to the motorway was closed! After a 20 minute detour, with the diversion signs going missing halfway through, we ended up lost! Eventually we figured out where we were and found our way onto the M6 to start our journey down south! It poured down all the way, but we made good time and arrived at hubs sisters in just under 4 hours.
After a sandwich and a cuppa, followed by a good catch up we headed out. Luckily for us the new P&O cruise ship Britannia was in dock today, sailing for Madiera at 6pm, so we took a drive down to the docks to watch her sail out and up the Solent.
It was very overcast, windy, and blooming cold down on Weston Shore, but so worth it, to catch sight of this new ship. I took lots of shots but the latter ones as she came out into the Solent were quite dark, so I've opted for this on, before she moved away from her birth.
When we got back and warmed up, we ordered a chinese and settled down to watch Saturday night tv.
Hope you're all enjoying your weekend, we are :-)
