Liberty/gull

Started the day with a bit of shopping in Times Square, then got ourselves back down to Battery Park to catch the boat over to Liberty Island and Ellis Island.  Beautiful sunny day :)  The immigration museum on Ellis Island is fascinating - although sadly most of the exhibits are still drying out elsewhere after Hurricane Sandy swept through there a couple of years ago.

We went to catch the subway back up to Times Square once we were back in Manhattan - and I managed to lose Char at the barriers.  Her ticket wouldn't swipe, and I'd already gone through - she went off to top hers up, but then never reappeared.  I waited half an hour before I finally got a text from her saying she'd gone on ahead and was at Times Square.  It had taken her so long to sort her ticket out that she assumed I'd gone on without her.  Anyway, we met up back at the hotel and all was well.

Went out for cocktails and dinner in the R Lounge at the Marriott Renaissance hotel, overlooking Times Square.  Brilliant evening :)
