swimming pool in Palm Springs

This is the swimming pool behind the building where we stayed in Palm Springs for a "Diamond Promotion" wants us to buy more points.   The points were "only $7.95/pt. if purchased now but sold in 10,000 point lots & you need 20k points to really be useful.  Also the more points, the more in maintenance fees.  Maintenance fees run most people 1k-2k/yr.  
DON'T RECOMMEND BUYING POINTS IN A TIMESHARE SYSTEM.  They wouldn't pay you a dollar to buy back the points you already have.
