Iris
This print is one of two that were anniversary gifts from my parents, parents-in-law and my husband. We purchased the prints about ten years ago from the artist, John Newby (1942-2013), at his gallery in Niagara-on-the-Lake.
The prints occupy a special place in my heart because they were gifts from very dear people, they are of one of my favourite flowers, the artist was originally from Burlington (home at the time), and they were discovered when my husband and I were on a lovely anniversary weekend getaway. These prints evoke so many lovely and special thoughts for me.
There is one more memory now and that is of my previous home in Burlington and its gardens, where many varieties of irises bloomed throughout the spring and summer.
