Marching On the Capitol

It's that time again, when the state's budget must be determined, and citizens descend on the capitol to share their needs, hopes and expectations with their legislators.  It seems like meeting the basic needs for children, seniors, people who are disabled, education, and maintaining and strengthening our infrastructure and emergency services would all be no brainers, and would never have to compete with other services in order to be funded. 

For me, it boils down to the basic principal of keeping a roof over your head and food on the table first.  Then branch out.  Too simple, too basic,  too obvious.  I am grateful for the people who take the time to communicate to legislators about the needs of the community.  If they are intended to be the voice of the people, they must first hear the people's voice.
