Daylight saving

I can never understand why they call it Daylight Saving. We have the same amount of daylight, whatever time the clocks say. But whether it is British Summertime or Daylight Saving, it is always a pleasure to put the clocks forward in the spring and to look forward to lighter evenings. Every six months I have to get out the oven handbook and the one for my car to find out which buttons to press to change the time! It ought to be logical, but somehow it isn't.
