Murano Fish Ornament
Murano glass is still made on the Venetian island of that name, using traditional centuries-old techniques to craft contemporary glass objects as tourist souvenirs - like this beautiful fish - to glass chandeliers costing a small fortune which will grace luxury hotels and palaces.
With the rain never far away today, I decided to picture this with the backdrop of a decorative glass panel that was handcrafted in Scotland! It comes in very useful for this purpose as the clear Murano glass picks up all its patterns and colours, and bends them into new forms. (if you click on the 'Muranoglass' tag you will see how the background transformed the colours in two blips taken in 2013.)
