Pre-MonoMonday: Patterned Angel

This angel is one of several that adorn the pulpit of St Peter's Church Berkhamsted. I am squashed against it as I try to see both conductor and music in a rather spectacular performance of Bach's St Matthew Passion.  there is a large choir as we are joined by a group from Madrid and a ripieno chorus of children plus the large orchestra and several soloists.

It seemed relevant to focus on the angel's wings and look at how the wood carver has shown the elaborate patterns on its golden wings.  I am surprised at how well this has converted into mono.

Now to change into the concert black and head off for the evening ahead.  It will be 'alright on the night'!
