Mysterious Structure

Today, we went over the Bernina Pass and dropped down into the Val Poschiavo where conditions were most definitely spring like, with warm sunshine and early flowers sprouting everywhere. In a clearing we chanced upon this strange structure that we had not seen the like before, it was solidly built and tall. We speculated that it was either a reconstruction of an ancient dwelling or some sort of hay drying device. If anybody can help with this puzzle we would be grateful.
