'Joys of Gardening'

Once again, the weather has been dreadful all day...our garden has always suffered from cross winds ...today has been particularly wild!
This beautiful new Hellebore 'Penny's Pink'...that I bought a few weeks ago at National Trust was growing so well! I've not seen such tall stems .. .(about fourteen inches)...on a Hellebore. The wind completely whipped the stems off at the base...so here they are in a vase to enjoy for a couple of days. Frustrating...but one of the 'joys of gardening'...I'm sure the plant will continue growing despite its violent decapitation! I took this photo at 6.30pm....so nice to have the extra hour of daylight!
