'Churchgoer'

I am not a  regular attendee of the church as in going to services and other planned events but I quite like to visit these places on my own. I find it very peaceful and relaxing. There are not that many places that you can get that sort of peace now/ everywhere else has some sort of background noise such as tv or radio sounds. I have googled this next question but I am still not sure of the answer. Why do some gravestones have the inscription on the West side rather than the East??
