Starting the next painting

I've been reluctant to start this next portrait because Maya is such a striking dog and I want to capture her in a way that doesn't diminish her beauty and shows her strength.  I'm not sure my painting skills are up to it, but I started.  Here's a rough in, using a different method of underpainting that I haven't tried before.  We'll see how I like it.
