Great Scotland Yard

The first HQ of the Metropolitan Police and still used to stable some of today's police horses. When the door is open you can see the ramp that can be used to take horses up to the first floor. I'd never actually seen any horses though until today.
I was round there doing a recce for the foreign language student tours several of us are doing over the next couple of weeks. I have two groups tomorrow and three on Wednesday. Then 3 more days after Easter. I've never guided large groups (~25) of language students before so it will be an interesting experience.
At this stop we will mention the start of the Police Force but I'm sure all the kids will be more interested to know that some of Harry Potter Order of the Phoenix and Deathly Hallows was filmed here. Just hope I'll be able to get them to stop taking selfies and move on. At least we're almost at the end of the tour by that point...
