Moonrise
Typical Monday and I ended the day with a few Blips to choose from - a great smash shot from badminton, an urban dusk (as opposed to urban dawn), baby rabbits feeding at the roadside (millions, another day perhaps!) and a red sun through the trees.
I'd just about narrowed down my choice to those four when 'Chronicle' finished (well worth a watch if you haven't already - I reviewed it very briefly some Blips ago) and I remembered that the rubbish needed taking out (it's a rock 'n' roll lifestyle).
Cue a quick trip out the front door to empty the bins and I noticed the moon hovering in the sky, still quite nicely illuminated even though the sun was well down by then. Happily I've been wandering around with the zoom lens stuck on my camera since yesterday so it was a matter of moments (and unintelligble gibbering at St3f to explain what I was doing) to nip back inside and grab the camera. A few shots, mucking around with settings, and stabilisation methods* later I had some great shots to work with.
As always the last one was the best so with a quick rotation for the 'rising' effect and a little bit of editing to get the colour back in (sacrificed when I shot it to get rid of the brightness that was smothering the detail) I had a brand new Blip for the day!
*Thanks here to BikerBear for the breathing tip the other day - worked a treat!
