The changeling
I was out and down on the River Lostock early this morning in an attempt to get a good image of the Banded Demoiselle before they got too active. It was nice and cool but the grey cloud rolled in and made the light rubbish. I tried a few spots and came across a Banded emerging from it's nymph case. Not sure if the pale colour means it's a female. Truly amazing that they spend 2 years in the river before they emerge for a few weeks of flight and mating.
