one of the lucky ones

News crews, fire engines, cranes, police cars, sanitation trucks and barricades still surround the area where the gas explosion/fire demolished three buildings in the East Village last week. I met this young fellow on a nearby street ...he told me he had worked part time at the Pomme Frites restaurant on the ground floor of one of the buildings...but had traded shifts the afternoon of the explosion. One just never knows.....
