A Funeral
A funeral is a time,
And you know it's true.
When people will be gathering,
At a time for you.
For at this time you are still,
With the loss of your breath.
When your intellect is gone,
And you lay down in death.
When heads are bowed low,
And your life has gone out.
Your body doesn't move,
There's no struggle or shout.
For you lay and are dead,
With a hope of things still to be.
Recognizing the resurrection,
And those realms yet to see.
For a funeral...is a time,
When prayers are being said.
When the body goes to the grave,
And the spirit steps ahead.
