Same Gig - Different Kid
Lise Live XXXi Auditions Day 2
In those halcyon days of ten or twelve kilos ago, a day like today would have meant that at least I could gorge on what ever tipple tickled my fancy in the evening without consequence, but, well, these ain't them days any more and now no matter how much running about I do, my tummy tyre comes too. I only mention this because today was, if it is possible, even more stressful than yesterday as this was the day when the news that the Lise Live concert is completely sold out spread like wild fire, and I spent my day explaining why you can't fit a quart into a pint pot, or in this case, more than 525 bums on to 525 seats in our theatre and then after the bell went to spend an ever increasingly frustrating 2.5 hours on Day 2 auditions where I had to explain, repeatedly, that boys with guitars cannot audition in more than two different bands no matter how big and sparkly their instruments are, and that an audition session even of 140 long, long minutes after school still isn't going to be enough for 45 bands to try out.
Now spending the evening, with a BEER, trying to decide who is IN and who is OUT. My name will be Mud or Miss Marvellous tomorrow, accordingly.
Note to self: don't forget you still have 80+ progress reports to write by Friday morning. Oh and you need to pack you suitcase honey - you're off to the UK on Friday afternoon... oh, and find someone to take care of the cats while you are away, .... oh and someone said that the sun shone today.
