'Three's a crowd!'

I don't know what they were thinking! It was like a mallard form of all in wrestling. The violence of it! Canal water sprayed all over the place and I thought they were going to drown the female. (If you think this shot is bad, you should see the out-takes!) If anyone can cast some light on this odd behaviour, I'd be most grateful.
