Filaments

There are lots of these interesting light bulbs strung up outside one of the buildings near mine.
I saw them the other evening and thought I would go out and get a photo.
Took my new camera but it turned out to be a lot harder to get the photo I was hoping for.
I tried the camera on automatic, some preset settings, and semi automatic all without much success.
I then went into fully manual mode and with much largely hopeful fiddling with aperture, shutter speed and ISO settings eventually ended up with something a bit like what I was aiming for.
I really will have to read that manual soon.
