'Heave awa' lads, I'm no' deid yet'
This is Paisley Close off the High Street. On 24th November 1861 the buildings collapsed killing over 30 people. As they were clearing away the rubble a young boy was heard to say 'Heave awa' lads, I'm no' deid yet'. When the close was rebuilt the young boy was remembered although his quote was slightly changed to 'Heave awa' chaps, I'm no dead yet'!
