Dusk view towards the Arrowsmith Range
It's been a glorious autumn day here in the foothills, with stunning views on hand from sunrise to sunset.
The day started early-ish as we had to take our Hilux Surf to the Toyoto garage in Geraldine for a service and new shocks. With nearly 400,000kms on the clock, 'The Smurf' (well, it is blue) is just run in, and is now going strong, especially with the new suspension.
So, to give it a roadtest on its return, tonight me and Mrs H took it up the Rangitata Gorge Road and up on to the Waikari Hills to check out the view to the North as the sun went down over the mountains. The trucks going good, and she's handling the gravel roads much better now. I feel a bit more confident about heading down to the Mackenzie Country and Tekapo (another trip to Mount John) at the end of the month now...
