This guy was rather sleepy and a little hairy with a big flat nose, but Liz and the koala didn't seem to mind being photographed with him.

Left Mission Beach this morning in pouring rain and drove north past Cairns. Stopped,in the sunshine to take the SkyRail, a cablecar through and almost to the top of the rainforest, another amazing experience and then to Kuranda where there was a rather disappointing bird park, an interesting butterfly sanctuary and some rather sleepy koalas. They sleep up to 22 hours a day so just as well we didn't wait around for the one in Noosa to move.
We then took the Kuranda railway around the side of the mountain back to the start and drove the final hour to Port Douglas, our last destination.
A quick swim in the pool before dinner.
