Costumes!

These wonderful costumes are produced by the craftswomen and men at Sands Film Studio in Rotherhithe, a building dating from the 1790s tucked in the winding streets beside the Thames. We wandered in because we saw a man sitting at a window doing exquisite embroidery and were given a private tour by Neil, who was cooking in the canteen as we entered.

Apart from the costumes, used in films and operas worldwide, we watched the master carpenter at work, walked down the wooden staircase he had built in the 1970s, and saw the tiny theatre used for different productions since the set was created for the children's theatre "Midsummer Night's Dream".
