Birthday traditions

Every year on April 2 for the last 43 years, my wonderful husband has created a work of love for my birthday cake.

This year, he wanted to remind me of our trip to Hawaii 12 years ago, when my cake was covered with fresh orchids.

He made it look like a tiny volcano, covered in flowers and watched over by this gigantic green-eyed monster (which is actually a gift bag with daffodils in it)!!!

It was a lovely and traditional way to begin my day!!
