What a scorcher!
When we left the house at 6:30 this evening to go down to our garden, it was 31 degrees in the shade.
Our garden isn't nearly as civilised as Digpan's. Surrounded by garrigue, a tatty old table, a couple of elderly plastic chairs, a barbecue built of stacked bricks -- because it's so isolated, we don't leave anything of value there. But it's a lovely place to sit in the evening, surrounded by the sound of birdsong, a chilled glass of our neighbour Christophe's award-winning rosé to hand along with some olives while the merguez cook on the barbecue ... le bonheur !
