La Grivola and the Grand Nomenon

The mountain on the left of the photograph is the La Grivola, which is just short of 4000 meters but is a lot more difficult and serious than many of the loftier peaks of the Alps. It provided a splendid and challenging trip for SwissPiper and I a few years ago. It always winks at us when we are in the Val D'Aosta. The pointed, smaller peak to its left is the grand Nomenon which is a much anticipated future outing.
