House

I've been aware for some time of the great variety of styles of houses around my local area. What at first sight seems like a rather bland slice of London suburbia actually reveals what I find to be rather interesting little architectural details.

So rather than endless shots of building site across the road or the knickknacks on my bookshelf I'm going to try to post a few examples of local houses. It's not such an easy task at the moment to take pictures while on crutches and I can only really use the toy camera - then again with the SLR I'm probably going to draw more disapproving looks from homeowners!

This isn't the best looking house in the world, nor is it in the greatest state of repair but I noticed it some time back and particularly like the iron work round the porch, the fancy brickwork above the windows which seems to be a bit of a local speciality and the slightly odd arrangement of the main windows as two pairs rather than the more usual large bays.
