Morning light over Etroubles

We woke to glorious sunshine and a day without commitments ahead of us. Off we went to explore new territories on the southfacing slopes above Aosta. We strode through villages, pastures with crocuses and forests. Our only companions for the day, except for our trusty hound, were an inquisitive bird of prey and a marmot. MalcolmsEye exclaimed "the first of the season" and then we laughed as we supposed that was what the marmot was saying too in his high pitched shriek!
