Beaver Creek

A gloriously sunny Good Friday. The cold nights had kept the snow really hard so we could just walk across it without sinking in.
We walked down to the stream to check out how the beavers were doing. I think their dam is even higher than it was.  The pool behind the dam stretches a long way upstream. The beaver lodge, which you can see in the middle distance (a cone behind some small trees) is about half-way along the pool.
This is the middle dam of three so they are certainly adapting the landscape to their needs!
