Even if he has been a wee bugger for large chunks of the day he still snuggles up at bedtime in that way that three year olds do; right up under your arm with knees up and all in a pyjama-clad ball and says 'I love you daddy'...

Then, a couple of minutes later, when you gently steer him to his bedroom he screams 'I DON'T WANT YOU - I WANT MUMMMAY!!'
