Life In Wales

Spoilt for Choice!

Alan's mum and dad are staying with us for Easter, and today we went into Brighton so they could visit the Royal Pavilion. As we've been inside numerous times, we said we'd meet them an hour later, and went to Julien Plumart to buy Macarons.

It's a wonderful shop run by French people and the cakes and Macarons are all hand made and are absolutely delicious. It's also the one place in Brighton that I can go and speak French, and I was really chuffed today when they asked if I was French! We bought a lovely box of 18, in a variety of flavours and then went upstairs to their cafe for a coffee.

We had a lovely 'late' lunch with the parents, and on our way home we passed a house not far from us and they had two pieces of 'used' block wood work surface outside their house. We've actually been planning on getting a piece to put in the utility room to groom the boys on, so I knocked on their door to ask if they were throwing it out. There was no-one at home, so when we got home, I wrote a note and went and put it through their letter box, offering to give them some money for it. A little while later, the lady who lives there sent me a text saying that we can help ourselves and that she's glad we can make use of it. I've never seen Alan move so quick, he was in the car like a shot!

Anyway, it's time to sample the Macarons - happy Easter!
