Eye In the Sky
Our first day in London! Easter holiday makers from all over the world are filling the streets, buses, tube and attractions of London to very nearly a maximum. Lucky thing we are seasoned travelers! We started off by entering a glass capsule on the London Eye together with twenty or so other people, and instantly made friends. Then the giant wheel spun up 135 meters in the air. The view was spectacular, we saw the whole city we think, with Big Ben and Buckingham Palace in the foreground. Kiwi was not sure that she liked heights all that much.
Then we strolled past Big Ben, Westminster Abbey and a very plain looking black house at Downing Street. A bit further on, two very shiny black horses with men in spectacular uniforms with golden helmets sitting on them were standing obviously guarding something, unclear what. The Philosopher's Stone? Every other person on the street is carrying a selfie stick.
We chilled out while elirin attended a solemn occasion this afternoon - The Messiah at the Royal Albert Hall for the 137th year in a row! Well, not elirin... She says it was absolutely fantastic and a memory for life. The best version she ever heard, and that is saying something.
Thanks blippers for following our London adventures!
