" OH WHAT A BEAUTY "

And I haven't a clue what it is!  Considering I know most plants, this species that grows every year in a garden in Stogumber, has me beat.  Does anyone know what it is?

If I don't get any answers, I will have to trawl though my many gardening books to try and find the answer.

It has been a very busy day, well it would be with Matthew here, but apart from doing the laundry, grinding glass, cooking, cleaning (the usual), I have made over 40 sausage rolls, most of which have been consumed by the men in this household!

We took Phoebe for a walk this afternoon and took this photo.  But it is new life in this plant and that's what this weekend is all about new life!!
