Excavating

I've been watching a pair of very industrious chickadees for 2 days. At first I thought they were taking wood chips for a nest, then did some research and found that they are taking the wood chips out so that they have room to nest in the empty cavity.
Home tomorrow, so I will have to get my uncle to keep me posted on their progress.
