Postcard from My Neighbourhood
It has been a wonderful warm day after the cloud lifted this morning. I took a walk around my Neighbourhood after lunch and it was so hot I was pleased to get home again. The cold change come later in the day but we never saw any rain that was predicted.
I haven't walked around my area for awhile and it was good seeing all the houses having their earthquake repairs and rebuilds. On my visit to Abberley Park I found a Monarch butterfly that has just hatched and was drying its wings. You can see that in the shot top right.
Abberley Park is a two hectare garden and heritage park, near to where I live and is filled with lovely mature trees, shrubs and gardens, as well as a children's playground area and paddling pool. It was originally a private garden with the earliest trees dating from the 1860's, coming under city council ownership in the late 1930's. The original homestead is gone but a small hall remains that can be hired for community use.
I think John is pleased as I have lost my voice.. will not really! I have a feeling it something to do with my throat problem and is a little worrying. Just as well I am having the scan on Tuesday. I am not feeling that well with the choking all the time now.
I well catch up with you all later as I am out to visit my friend who is in Christchurch for the weekend from Wellington.. luckily I had a good talk to her yesterday as I can't say a lot today.
