Le bilboquet

An afternoon walk in the Trois Pignons area of the Forest, near Noisy sur École, a very popular area with rock climbers - however we just stuck to walking on our two feet! This particular boulder, known as le bilboquet is located in the midst of a huge expanse of very fine sand, known as Les Sables du Cul du Chien - it's like being at the beach, but without the sea! Unfortunately the boulder, which has become something of an emblem of the Forest, is becoming rather unstable so they have recently put up a wooden barrier to discourage people from climbing on it. Since it was a rather gloomy afternoon, and because of the rather unattractive barrier, I chose to focus on the structure itself, rather than showing it in its setting.
