Back to the 70s
I enjoyed an excellent night with the ever-so-stylish Mod crowd at 229 The Venue. I was there to see Simon Shaw and a two other members of The Trembling Bells play as Peter Daltrey's Kaleidoscope. Here they are a year os so ago: The Sky Children. They were brilliant, as were The Loons and The Misunderstood.
It was a great night for people-watching. There were some absolutely wonderful outfits and hairstyles, from beehives to sideburns, and tailored stripy trousers to patterned mini-dresses.
It's always amazing to catch up with you Simon. I hope you had a good dance into the wee hours.
Earlier in the day, Fred and I went to the Ravilious exhibition at Dulwich Picture Gallery. If you can, go and see it. His watercolour paintings and lithographs are breathtakingly wondrous.
