A stroll around Denham

Sal and I went for a stroll around Denham in Buckinghamshire this afternoon. I've always liked Denham. It's one of the prettiest villages within easy reach of home, with lots of red brick and timber framed houses, and three decent pubs. On the outskirts of the village is this beautiful house, known as Wellers Mead, with its ornamental gables in a Dutch Colonial style.

It is linked to another property called the Old Mill and you can see the River Misbourne running underneath the two buildings in the photograph. Apparently the building dates from the 18th century, but was altered significantly in the 1930s.

Obviously this strolling was thirsty work, so we had to stop for a swift one in the Swan in the village.
