Good Saturday

What was good today ?
My wee Grandson's 5th birthday party and seeing him so confident and happy with the other children.
My effort at a 'minecraft ' birthday cake seemed to make him smile ...except Stevie ' s smile wasn't quite perfect on the icing figure :)

My sister's daughter, Ruth, being here relaxing in the garden when we got home from the party.
Our first garden clearing effort of the year ...so amazing to find all the new growth under the leaves that had not been cleared in the corners of the garden last winter.
Our salmon pink quince flowering under the bathroom window and the magnolia tree, beside my hut, now in bud.
J's first bonfire of the season ...
And now relaxing by our own fire with a glass of wine.
A good a Saturday and looking forward to early morning in St Mary's.
