sunrise

Today was a once-in-a-lifetime perfect kind of day.

My best friend and I woke up insanely early and overcame several hurdles (a crime scene in my neighborhood; unwieldy traffic lights; a speed trap) to make it to St. Augustine beach in time for the sunrise. We made it, and believe me when I say that it was an impossibly beautiful thing to see.

We spent the morning on the beach - talking, walking in the surf, and knitting (of course). After a tasty lunch, we went on a trail ride at Haven Horse Ranch. Look it up if you are ever in the St Augustine area - it's a nonprofit that does lots of really cool things with horse therapy and special needs kids.

We are finally back in town and it is officially time for a nap.
